Statement on False Allegations

We are aware of a series of videos published by Sean Hickey, who runs a YouTube Channel called Geeksvana which contain false and misleading claims about the Micro Drone 4.0 project and our company, Extreme Toys Ltd.

These videos attempt to discredit the Micro Drone 4.0 campaign and our founder through rumours, baseless accusations and personal attacks. These claims are completely untrue and we take this development very seriously.

The truth is simple:
The delay to the Micro Drone 4.0 project was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which had a catastrophic impact on global supply chains, particularly in electronics manufacturing. Like thousands of legitimate hardware companies worldwide, we faced severe factory shutdowns, parts shortages, and shipping disruptions far beyond our control.

We fully understand that our backers are disappointed by the delay - and rightly so - we share that frustration having spent years developing Micro Drone to what it is today. But the challenges we faced were not the result of mismanagement or neglect; they were the direct consequence of a global crisis that disrupted production, logistics, and operations across the entire industry. Despite these setbacks, we have never given up on our mission to deliver Micro Drone 4.0 and continue to work tirelessly to bring it to completion.

Unfortunately, Mr. Hickey’s videos have gone beyond fair comment. By spreading false narratives and misleading speculation, he has encouraged a wave of negative comments and reviews across social media and consumer review platforms. Many of these are based not on personal experience, but on misinformation originating from his channel with the intention of harming our reputation and causing confusion among genuine customers, supporters and business partners.

Since launching in 2011 Extreme Fliers has produced three successful versions of Micro Drone, distributed globally through retailers such as Selfridges, Firebox, the Science Museum, and B&H Photo, and in 2016 received the Queen’s Award for Innovation - one of the highest honours for British technology companies.

We want to make it absolutely clear:

  • Micro Drone 4.0 is a genuine project

  • Extreme Fliers (Extreme Toys Ltd) is a legitimate UK based company with a proud history of design, engineering and customer support.

  • We remain fully committed to our customers and backers, we continue developing the innovative technology we have worked on for over a decade and we continue delivering all our existing products to customers ordered through our online store, retail partners and distributors, on time and with the top level support that customers require.

We urge viewers and customers to treat Geeksvana’s content with skepticism. It does not reflect the facts of the situation and attempts to selectivly and unfairly damage the perception of a genuine project created by a fantastic team of engineers from a wide range of diciplines.

We stand by our work, our products, and our commitment to transparency.
We will continue to defend our reputation against misinformation and protect the integrity of the Micro Drone project.
